Thank you to all the doctors and staff who took such good care of me. You will always be my daddy’s choice for a vet if I or my brother needs one!”

Meet Rocky Point’s Exceptional Support Staff

Rocky Point Animal Hospital’s staff is what makes our hospital great. We share a common passion for helping pets and their families. When you come to our hospital, be sure to say hello to any member of our friendly staff. We are happy and proud to have you to meet them.

Laura at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Laura joined the Rocky Point Animal Hospital family in 2003 as a receptionist. Prior to her employment here, she worked for 5 years at another animal hospital and was active in Long Island Golden Retriever Rescue (LIGRR), where she served as vice president for 1 year. During her 3 years with LIGRR, Laura fostered more than 30 dogs in her home. This experience taught her that although every animal is unique, they all share a common need for compassion and understanding.

Over time, Laura’s organizational skills, innovative ideas, and advanced knowledge of computer technology were instrumental in helping Rocky Point Animal Hospital to become a progressive, modern practice. In 2006, Laura was given responsibility for all client services, a position that naturally evolved into Hospital Manager, where she oversees the smooth and efficient daily operation of our busy practice.

Randi at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Randi has been the Office Administrator/Bookkeeper at Rocky Point Animal Hospital since August 1998. Randi’s love for animals first brought her here as a part-time receptionist, but her previous experience included working at Allstate Insurance Company for many years as a Senior Specialty Market Associate. She is a proud mom and owner of two pets. When she is not working at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Kristin at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Kristin has been a receptionist for 6 years and is a teacher as well. She has four dogs, two of them rescued. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding and spending time with her friends, family, and fiancé. Kristin loves her job at Rocky Point Animal Hospital because our staff is like family. She says that everyone loves their job, sharing a common interest for compassionate care for animals.

Christine at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Christine has been at Rocky Point Animal Hospital since October 2008 and thoroughly enjoys every minute she spends here. She feels very fortunate to be able to earn a living working alongside an awesome group of caring, dedicated, patient, and skilled coworkers. She knows that everyone loves tending to the needs of our clients and all of the beautiful animals that come through our doors. “This is the best place I’ve ever worked, and I love my job!” says Christine.

Melinda at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Melinda has been with the Rocky Point Animal Hospital for 4 years and could not be any happier. She loves being able to work at a place that she considers home, with people that are like family. Melinda says, “Being able to contribute to the care and compassion our patients get is the most rewarding part of my job.” She is also a teacher who enjoys exploring new places, meeting new people, and, of course, going for car rides with her pup.

Erin at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Erin started observing our work at Rocky Point Animal Hospital when she was 13 and began working with us at 14. Several years later, she still absolutely loves her job here because of her great coworkers and the wonderful animals she sees each day. When she’s not at the hospital, she likes to relax and spend time with friends.

Dani at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

A Licensed Veterinary Technician, Dani graduated from Suffolk Community College in 1997 with an associate’s degree in veterinary technology. She previously worked full time at an animal hospital for 8 years and did some part-time work at yet another animal hospital. Dani has been at Rocky Point Animal Hospital for 7 years and loves her job helping animals with the rest of the RPAH family.

jen at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Jen attended SUNY Suffolk, earning an AAS degree in liberal arts, and then SUNY Delhi, earning an AAS in veterinary science. She became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in June 2007 and has worked at Rocky Point Animal Hospital since 2006.

She has had animals her entire life, from cats and dogs to guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, mice, rats, snakes, fish, and birds. After graduating from Suffolk, her mom’s words of wisdom, “You’ve loved animals all your life. Why not go to vet tech school?” pointed her in the right direction. In her off time, she loves anything that’s tie-dyed, smothered in cheese, or accompanied by a kitten.

Nicole at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Nicole inherited her love for animals from her dad. She is passionate about raising awareness about animal shelters, especially that people can find purebreds and “designer muttigrees” there. Shelter staff and animals alike are overwhelmed, overworked, understaffed, and underestimated. Nicole says, “Adopt, don’t shop, let’s make it an even game. Stop buying from breeders until we can relieve some of the anguish our shelter animals live daily!” She loves what she does and would rather not say she works at this hospital; she just does what she was born to do.

Nicole’s hero is Tia Maria Torres, founder of the Villalobos rescue center. Her goal is to have a sanctuary for the misunderstood breeds here on Long Island. As her hero Tia says, “My mission is that one day, we won’t need one!”

Jill at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Jill has been with us since 2006, having worked previously at another animal hospital as an assistant. In addition to her excellent technical skills with dogs and cats, Jill is also a talented and gifted “parrot wrangler”. She has a natural affinity and ability to handle all kinds of companion birds—skills that come in handy in her “Pampered Parrots” bird grooming business.

Joni at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Joni began working at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in 2003 when she was 14. Since that time, Joni has developed into a highly valued member of our technical team. Joni also helps manage our kennel and weekend staff.

Amanda at Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point NY

Amanda has been working with us since she was 13. She is currently a student at Suffolk County Community College and plans to transfer this fall to continue her education. She loves penguins, border collies, and her second family here at Rocky Point Animal Hospital.
